This week we review the 1994 smash-hit videogame adaptation Double Dragon! Actually, that’s a total lie – this film was an abysmal failure…but somehow 3 of the 4 Yellow Menace crew found it in themselves to assign a thumbs-up! Find out which one of us was a total wet blanket! Also, Alex talks about really old video games none of you will care about, and we discuss young adult fiction. Okay, it’s really a discussion about the impending U.S. release of Battle Royale – but, as always, we get all wander-y and shit.

Crap, I had a couple notes but forgot them all, b’doh! I need to have a notebook or textpad open or something when I listen!
One thing, Satori basically means straight-up “enlightenment”, nothing more esoteric than that really. The Wikipedia def is actually pretty solid on that matter:

Huh – where’d I get that ‘kick in the eye’ thing from? Thought I’d read that in a book about zen buddhism at one point or another…
Well, books about Zen tend to be poetic and flowery!
But more realistically, it was likely not explaining the clinical definition of Satori (“enlightenment”), but what enlightenment actually feels like or how it compares to say “having a eureka moment” or “remembering where you left your keys”. Which is also totally legit!
