Songs about Kaiju
This is one of those posts that emerges from noodling around on YouTube when I should be working. I watched the awesome rock-doc ANVIL: THE STORY OF ANVIL at a friend’s house over Christmas (do check it it out if you get a chance – it’s amazing…) and have been adding Anvil videos to my YouTube faves ever since. Today I noted with some amusement that one of the tracks on their classic album Metal on Metal is entitled Mothra – which turns out to be a pretty awesome 5-minute ode to my favorite gargantuan moth. Of course, Anvil wasn’t the first (or the last) to pen a musical ode to giant Japanese critters. Below are a brief selection of similarly themed tunes for your midday enjoyment.
