Studio Ghibli Borrows a Classic
The next Studio Ghibli film will be based on another English-language classic (’cause Earthsea went sooooo well), Mary Norton’s 1952 novel The Borrowers.
It’s directed not by Miyazaki, but by the assistant director of Earthsea (joy). Shapiro Keats will probably want to see it. He likes stories about tiny litle people (The Indian in the Cupboard, The Littles, The Wee Free Men). I am ambivalent about stories concerning tiny people, and I am a little off Ghibli right now (haven’t seen Ponyo yet, though) so I’m kind of meh on The Borrowers anime.
