Vertical: I’m Not Dead Yet!
It seems Vertical, Inc., a teensy-tiny publishing company that releases Japanese fiction and classic manga in the U.S., has no intention of closing up shop depsite the crisis that seems to be hitting the industry everywhere else.
This is nice to know, since I really like their stuff, both content-wise and presentation-wise. They’ve been releasing a ton of Osamu Tezuka’s manga like MW and Dororo and Blackjack, as well as novels like The Cat in the Coffin by Mariko Koike, and it’s all high-quality stuff. Without Vertical (and all six of its employees), our bookstores would be that much poorer.
So keep on truckin’, guys.
