Commercials from the East

Here are some funny Japanese commercials.

Grape Fanta

I’m not sure why this commercial should make me want to drink grape Fanta. Mostly it makes me concerned that if I try to open it and drink it, the force of the carbonation would blow my head off.

Nintendo DS

There is a Japanese dude dressed like Luigi. I always play Baby Mario and Baby Luigi in MarioKart because when they lose they say, “No no no no no no…mamma mia!” in really cute voices.

Sometimes I lose on purpose. But usually I just lose anyway.

Pizza Hut

I never knew pizza ingredients had so much drama in their lives. That real pizza at the end looks good though.

I’m going to go and make lunch now.

The pizza ad (which did seem overly dramatized for no particular reason) reminded me that in Korean there’s no “Z” sound. So “Pizza Hut” translates to “Pijha Hoot.”

Of course, what we should really take from all these commercials, is that Japan is only a Monster Island away from total destruction by Grape Fanta. But that’s okay… by the time it disappears into the sea, all the Japanese will have moved to France, Italy, and the US with bad mustaches and unconvincing accents. ;)
