Remember the “Little Superstar”?
As it turns out, he’s a real actual person and not a short robot with awesome dance moves! His name is Thavakalai and he has a Myspace page.
He likes cricket (big surprise- he’s Indian, after all), Playboy and Barbra Streisand. And he seems like a really cool person with mad martial arts skills.
People are usually enthralled by my stature and appearance. At first, they see just another child. But once they realize I am a very small adult, their curiousity grows. I usually don’t mind the attention and I admit it has helped my acting career. But if the staring and rude remarks become overbearing, I usually have to unleash my many martial arts moves that God has blessed me with. I have a natural talent for karate and other self defense arts.
Not a big fan of America though:
I stand approximately 100cm tall. I believe that is 3 feet 4 inches to you Americans. You Americans can be so unaccomodating what with never having learned the metric system and all. And bombing countries into oblivion. And starving millions of people around the world with your economic sanctions. And being so very arrogant and ignorant about other people’s customs and traditions. And with your Britney Spears and Madonna’s. And ice hockey! I don’t understand you Americans some times.
Knee-jerk America bashing is nothing very special… it’s like blaming Starbucks or Walmart for the evil of the world – they’re the biggest, therefore, blame.
He doesn’t understand ice hockey – fair enough, neither do I. On the other hand, I like cricket, but barely understand it. Of course, I’ve never seen kung-fu Indians running around “unleashing” their martial arts. Unless he’s got the baksheesh to pay off the cops, if he “unleashed” himself, he’d end up in jail.
I thought it was pretty funny – ‘ice hockey’? Perhaps he was thinking ‘North Americans’, since hockey’s much bigger north of the border than here in the states.
That said, I’m a hockey fan – Go NJ Devils!
I think his comments were meant at least somewhat as a joke. I don’t get ice hockey really but I like watching the fights. You never see stuff like that in cricket!
Well, it’s like the story says: “I went to a fight last night and a hockey game broke out…”
I was never a big hockey fan until I moved to New Jersey – started following the Devils out there and I’ve been a casual fan ever since.
My only contact with cricket is seeing odd references in Monty Python or Doctor Who (more the former than the latter, obviously…)
