Just When You Thought It Was Over…

I guess the theatrical releases of the first two live-action Death Note films were profitable enough that Viz has decided to release the third one.

Wait…there’s a third one? But didn’t both main characters die in the second one?

Please, a little thing like death won’t stop such a popular and lucrative franchise!

L: Change the World takes place in the 23 days between the death of Light and the death of L. So there.

I don’t think I’ll see this one, just because I never really liked L. He kind of creeps me out, and I don’t get why, in the live-action films, his eyebrows are shaved. I think one of his attractions to the pre-teen set is the fact that he has all the symptoms of Asberger’s Syndrome, a low-level form of autism, so maybe kids with the same problems feel a connection to him or something. Which is great, but he still gets on my nerves.

Anyway, the new movie will be shown in April. I’ll post a list of participating theaters when Fathom Events announces them.
