See – I’m not the only one optimistic about ‘Keanu Bebop’…
Angry Asian Man recently chimed in on the whole Keanu Reeves / Cowboy Bebop thing.
Don’t hate me for saying this, but I don’t think this is an entirely bad idea. Keanu gets a lot of hate for his low-charisma surfer-dudeness, but in the right role, he isn’t half-bad. For Spike, I’d argue the most important elements is cool. Can Keanu pull this one off? For now, I am willing to find out.
I know there’s some serious hate brewing on the internets about Reeves’ casting as the low-key protagonist Spike Spiegel, but honestly – I think Keanu can make it work. Remember all that crap that Tom Cruise got for signing on to play Lestat in Interview With the Vampire? That all worked out, right? And Tom’s a fucking nutcase.
I say give Keanu a chance. I think he’ll prove he’s the right choice.
