Wolvie wants a chat with you...

X-Men / Wolverine star Hugh Jackman (and Sexiest Man Alive, apparently) was blabbering to MTV and made some off-hand comments regarding the setting of a possible Wolverine sequel.

“The most intriguing thing to me was the Japan story. I love the Japan story. I wanted to do the Japan story from around X-Men 2.”

He went on: “Can you just picture Wolverine in Japan with the triads and the samurai? It’s just genius. Comedically and dramatically, I thought, ‘This is awesome’!”

IGN (from whence I pulled the above quote) speculates on the possiblity that a followup could include elements of the legendary Claremont / Miller Wolverine limited series that launched the character into his own standalone series. Personally, I think this is where they should have gone with the first Wolverine film, but what do I know. Of course, seeing as the first Wolverine movie hasn’t even been released, it’s far from determined if there will even be a sequel.
