DVD Review- Jyu-oh-Sei Complete Series
Rating:
In the future, humans have conquered space and set up a series of colonies in a far-flung solar system. Thor and Rai Klein live on the space colony Juno. The future looks bright for these 11-year-old twins; they’re smart, handsome, and their father is the right hand man of Juno’s leader, Odin. The brothers [...]
‘Wolverine’ sequel heads East?
X-Men / Wolverine star Hugh Jackman (and Sexiest Man Alive, apparently) was blabbering to MTV and made some off-hand comments regarding the setting of a possible Wolverine sequel.
“The most intriguing thing to me was the Japan story. I love the Japan story. I wanted to do the Japan story from around X-Men 2.”
He went on: [...]
Geek Chic: ManiRolled…+ a Thanksgiving Day Surprise
Rickrolling
For those of you who are not big dorks like me, the definition of Rickrolling is above.
At work we are playing ANOTHER Barry Manilow CD. This guys has put one out every year for the past few years. Well, this one is something like “Barry Manilow Sings the 1980’s” or some crap. And they’re not [...]

Apparently Japan’s legion of housecleaning robots has decided their jobs aren’t fulfilling enough and are working to realize their dream: BROOOOOOOADWAAAAY!
Acting Robots!

HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA!sigh
Print Review-Inubaka: Crazy for Dogs
I love dogs. More than anything in the world I want a dog, but we live in an apartment and I don’t want to subject a dog to apartment living. The minute we buy a house with a yard, though, I am heading to the Humane Society with a leash and a check book.
Much as [...]
Uhm…
Yes – the site looks different. Sometime this evening, the server which houses Yellow-Menace.com was hacked affecting ourselves and a number of other blogs. I won’t go into the dirty details – if you checked in with us anytime between 8pm and 3am EST, you’ll know what I’m talking about.
In fixing the site, certain functions [...]
Happy Turkey Day everyone!
Those of you outside the U.S. probably don’t care, but we Yanks love to use the 27th of November as an excuse to tear into lots of cooked fowl and generally sit around doing nothing. And since a good deal of you visit the site while at work (don’t lie – I’ve seen the traffic [...]
‘Pirates’ director Gore Verbinski to produce ‘Host’ re-make
Not sure if this is stale news or not (by my read, this broke about a week ago) – but it’s still worth noting. Pirates of the Caribbean director Gore Verbinski will produce the U.S. re-make of the hit Korean creature feature The Host. First-time director Fredrik Bond will helm the production.
Once again, I feel [...]
Japanese zoo forces two polar bears into lesbian cohabitation
Zookeepers at the Kushiro Municipal Zoo couldn’t figure out why two captive polar bears, Tsuyoshi and Kurumi, wouldn’t – you know…fuck. Turns out that both bears turned out to be female. Maybe they need to drop a couple of seasons of The L-Word in there…that would probably do the trick.
Wouldn’t produce any baby bears, though.
“Observing his [...]
ADV has 50/50 chance of survival?
Robert’s Anime Blog posted a dire warning regarding the future of ADV, once the cornerstone of the U.S. anime industry.
Because ADV has so much business exposure to the failing mass market retailers, I’m currently putting ADV’s survival at only about 50/50 into next year, and the only reason I’m commenting on this is that a [...]
Yellow Menace Makes Dinner
It’s quick. It’s easy to make. It’s vegetarian. It’s somehow Asian-inspired (Thai, I suppose, because of the chili sauce). Whatever, it’s fracking good. And it even heats up well the next day.
Chili Noodle and Cashew Stir Fry
200 g (6 ½ oz.) thin noodles, chopped
¼ cup oil
2 tsp chili oil
½ cup unsalted, roasted cashews
1 red pepper, [...]
Toho employs voracious lawyers
As many some of you probably know, some time ago I ran a series of articles called Survivor: Monster Island, which was exactly what it sounds like – a parody of CBS’ hit reality-television series set on Toho’s Monster Island. Every week I posted an update from the Island to describe the week’s events and [...]
Home Sick…
Ack! I’ve been laid up with a cold the last couple of days, hence not-at-work. I think this was only supposed to be a minor cold, but I made the mistake of playing Dungeons and Dragons on Saturday night. All that talking (I’m the DM) pretty much killed my throat – and the next day [...]
Neil Gaiman Defends Dirty Manga
I don’t approve of child pornography.
I wouldn’t read manga with shota or lolicon themes, or look at that sort of art.
But if YOU want to read that stuff, that’s fine. Not the child pornography, the manga. As long as they’re drawings and not real kids being hurt.
But the U.S. government is full of morons who [...]
