Japanese researchers discover yeti-tracks?

YetiWhen I was a kid I used to love reading about all things Fortean – particularly cryptozoological phenomenon. Things like Bigfoot and the Yeti fascinated me, and to this day I’m totally unnerved when swimming in natural bodies of water for fear there might be some Loch Ness Monster thingie hanging out in the depths.

As a result, whenever I hear about some new ‘discovery’, I can’t help but hope there might be something to it – even as the rational part of my brain reacts in horror.

A group of Japanese adventurers from the “Yeti Project Japan,” claim to have photographed the footprints of the legendary giant ape-man Yeti after spending 42 days in the Himalayan peaks.

Team leader Kuniaki Yahihara, from Maebashi, Japan said the photographs have been sent to scientists in Kyoto University for study.

The group said the footprints were found in Annapurna IV, some 24,668 ft. height. The discovery was made in the third trip of the group in the Himalaya to hunt for the elusive Yeti also known as the Abominable Snowman, a mythical creatures similar to Bigfoot, but lives in the colder regions of Tibet and Nepal.
