Ponyo Coming to the States in 2009
According to a review in Time Magazine, the latest film from Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli, Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea (Miyazaki likes those compound titles, huh?), will be released in the U.S. in 2009 by Disney. Ponyo sounds a little kiddie for my tastes-it’s about a goldfish who falls in love with a little boy and sets out to become human (and my favorite of his films is the dark, violent Princess Mononoke), but I’ll see anything Miyazaki makes, because I think my ‘anime fan’ card will be revoked if I don’t.
