Sho’nuff actor Julius Carry dead at 56
Fans of exploitative martial arts films will surely remember the Barry Gordy-produced shlock-fest The Last Dragon. Sadly, actor Julius Carry - who memorably portrayed the baddie Sho’nuff opposite leading man Taimak - died of pancreatic cancer two days ago at the age of 56. Carry never really moved up to the a-list, but genre fans will also remember his stint as Lord Bowler on the short-lived (though much beloved) Bruce Campbell vehicle The Adventures of Brisco County Jr.

That sucks! He was definitely the best part of The Last Dragon.
Besides, he possessed the power of the glow! His family should put that on his tombstone.
I agree with all the above sentiments - it’s a real pity he never made more of a dent in the industry, but I’m glad for what we got.

Aw, that stinks! Carry’s performance as Sho’nuff was, IMO, more memorable than the hero’s, and who couldn’t love his work as James Lonefeather, aka Lord Bowler? It takes a lot of charisma not to get upstaged by Bruce Campbell all the time, and Carry proved an excellent foil — though definitely *not* a sidekick! — to Mr. Campbell.
Bummer.
